The Esplanade Hotel has recently appointed a new General Manager in James Allen and a new Head Chef in Paul Medica. Together they bring a wealth of hospitality experience to the region.
Mr Allen has strong local ties to Port Hedland and is excited by the opportunity to join the team at The Esplanade Hotel. With a career that spans more than forty years in the tourism and hospitality industry, Mr Allen’s experience extends to leading tour groups through India, to owning and running a restaurant, and managing, project building and renovating five-star hotels across Asia and Australia.
“I’m genuinely delighted at the opportunity before me. We want to make sure the venue is family friendly and provides the local resident population a place that is comfortable and affordable. We also recognise that the Esplanade Hotel is important to the Pilbara’s tourism economy,” Mr Allen commented.
Working with the Compass Group, the Esplanade Hotel now has stable and experienced management and the depth of talent available to provide the service a hotel of this standing will provide consistently.
The Esplanade is launching new menus with a commitment to supporting and promoting local produce. This initiative is supported by the new management and will be prevalent in The Esplanade’s range of well-priced family meals designed to cater for all tastes and budgets.
Monthly events and promotions will also make The Esplanade Hotel the place to be with an exciting line up of talent set to become a regular feature for weekends throughout the summer months.
The Melbourne Cup will be celebrated with a three-course meal and a two-hour drinks package between 11am and 1pm Tuesday November 6 for those looking to watch the race that stops a nation in comfort and style. There will be a Fashion of the Fields with some great prizes to be won.
The Esplanade Hotel is also gearing up for a busy season of Corporate Functions catered either on or off site. For the festive season, The Esplanade Hotel will open Christmas Day offering a Buffet style Christmas lunch and A-la-Carte Dinner options.
Recognising that the Esplanade Hotel is an important and iconic hotel for the entire town of Port Hedland, the Hotel is also undergoing some renovations. This investment in the quality of product will improve the guest experience with changes expected to be seen in the coming weeks to the hotel reception, beer garden and bar areas.
